Machine Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
Quick action is required in case of unwanted vibrations at a machine – especially with modern production facilities and high hourly rates. The first action is a measurement diagnosis. Here we offer various diagnosis methods:
- operational vibration analysis of the current production
- machine run-ups with cascade analysis
- vibration source investigation via synchronized averaging
- identification of resonance frequencies, experimental modal analysis
- bearing diagnosis

Technical Measurement Equipment
Apart from the engineering know-how the other crucial factor for a successful machine diagnosis is the available measuring instrumentation. Especially the following are employed:
- MEDA, a data aquisition and analysing software along with the “Machine Diagnosis” package
- an up to 40-channel data aquisition system with sample-and-hold, useful for highest sampling rates
- Laser-Scanning-Vibrometer
- acceleration measuring instrumentation: sensors in different sizes and sensitivities
- highly sensitive seismic special sensors
- extra sensors (angular acceleration sensors, displacement sensors, etc.)
- impulse hammers with force sensors in different sizes
