Machine Diagnosis and Troubleshooting

Quick action is required in case of unwanted vibrations at a machine – especially with modern production facilities and high hourly rates. The first action is a measurement diagnosis. Here we offer various diagnosis methods:

  • operational vibration analysis of the current production
  • machine run-ups with cascade analysis
  • vibration source investigation via synchronized averaging
  • identification of resonance frequencies, experimental modal analysis
  • bearing diagnosis

Based on the diagnosis we will present and discuss with you tangible approaches and measures for resolving vibration related problems.

Technical Measurement Equipment

Apart from the engineering know-how the other crucial factor for a successful machine diagnosis is the available measuring instrumentation. Especially the following are employed:

  • MEDA, a data aquisition and analysing software along with the “Machine Diagnosis” package
  • an up to 40-channel data aquisition system with sample-and-hold, useful for highest sampling rates
  • Laser-Scanning-Vibrometer
  • acceleration measuring instrumentation: sensors in different sizes and sensitivities
  • highly sensitive seismic special sensors
  • extra sensors (angular acceleration sensors, displacement sensors, etc.)
  • impulse hammers with force sensors in different sizes
