Shock and Vibration Engineering

As a recognized institute for noise and vibration immisions according to §§26/28 BImSchG (Federal Immission Protection Law), Wölfel takes measurements, analyzes and assesses shock impacts as a result of

  • road and rail traffic
  • industrial plants
  • construction works, demolition works

with regard to their effects on

  • buildings (serviceability)
  • human beings in buildings (annoyance)
  • sensitive systems (operability).

Our engineers compile prognoses of vibration in the design phase and concepts for shock and vibration protection, e.g.

  • in the field of civil engineering
  • for determining vibration and shock tolerance or
  • for preservation of evidence measurements, also in the field of historical structures.

Different mechanical unbalance exciters with an excitation force up to 55 kN (5.5 tons) are available for simulating sources of vibrations. Therewith amongst others the transmission behavior within or in-between buildings can be determined.

The performance of online monitoring of buildings and facilities completes our qualities: That way vibrations can be observed over a period of days, weeks and even months and as necessary including a connection with an alert function.
