Experimental Modal Analysis of Seats
Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) presents a sophisticated analysis method in the area of structural dynamical measuring technology. It is aimed at the determination of the decisive vibration properties of car seats, i.e.
- eigenfrequencies
- natural modes and
- modal damping ratios.
Due to non-linear properties of seats, a special process know-how is required in this case. We are proficient in modal analysis of
- seat structures, i.e. no cushion and
- completely cushioned seats.
Measuring and Testing
For this purpose there is comprehensive measuring and testing equipment at our disposal:
- 40-channel data acquisition system with sample- and hold-function,
- corresponding equipment of small and light 3-D acceleration sensors,
- laser-scanning vibrometer,
- various impulse hammers and shakers for excitation purposes,
- 3D-digitizer for the geometric measurement of structural and measuring points,
- vibration-free foundation for the setting of the test specimens.
