The pre- and postprocessor FEMAP does not only present the integrated user interface of NX Nastran, but can also be used as mesh generator for programs such as e. g. SBETA-AT3D, ABAQUS, ANSYS or NISA, via direct interfaces or the well documented neutral file.

By an intuitive user interface, FEMAP allows for the ideal connection between the CAD-functionality of a solid modeler, powerful meshing and convincing postprocessing. Numerous universal CAD-interfaces, e. g. IGES, STEP and VDA and direct interfaces to all important CAD-programs, e. g. AutoCAD, CATIA, IDEAS,  SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Unigraphics ... and finally interfaces to all leading FEM-programs complete the profile.

Thus FEMAP has developed to an indispensable data transfer platform in a heterogeneous CAE-environment. By means of the very well documented neutral file FEMAP can be used even in combination with FEM-programs for which no interfaces are available.

In combination with NX Nastran FEMAP offers two different methods:

• Simple analysis of displacements and of Von Mises' equivalent stresses of individual components and group of components with the Stress Wizard
• Advanced FEM-simulation with FEMAP and NASTRAN

In combination with NX Nastran or another appropriate solver FEMAP thus presents the ideal tool for the design and CAE-engineer.
