Training
Why IMMI training and who needs it?
Trainings presented in this section concentrate on the "
noise mapping" features of IMMI, whereas separate trainings are available for "
air-pollution concentration" mapping.
Basic training "noise prediction & noise mapping"
IMMI is an easy-to-use software to map noise levels and concentrations of air pollutants. Following the Windows philosphy and being a vertical GIS, IMMI is easy to master and the learning curve is rather flat. However, considering that IMMI targets an ever growing range of applications and that its set of available functions and commands is vast, an initial training for beginners is recommended.
The basic training that is presented on this page is targeted towards new users of IMMI. It helps in developing a confidence in using IMMI in projects, and thus makes new users productive faster.
Advanced training "noise prediction & noise mapping"
Advanced trainings can be arranged on demand. Advanced trainings are targeted towards specific user needs and require a certain level of acquaintance with IMMI. Advanced trainings do not follow fixed structure but are tailored towards the needs and specific questions of the user.
Basic IMMI training
A structured IMMI one- or two-day training in English is available on demand. It can be organised as a group training or as an individual training.
The training follows the English IMMI training manual and contains theoretical and practical parts. Each attendant receives a copy of the IMMI training manual for future reference.
Basic IMMI training schedule
- Theoretical basis of noise mapping: EU regulations, interim or national calculation methods, sound sources, calculation parameters
- IMMI software features - an overview
- IMMI latest release - what's new?
- Practical session 1 - fast pathway from data entry to first results
- Introduction to grid calculation
- Practical session 2 - grid/noise map calculation, special thematic maps, comparison of noise maps, maps showing the exceeding of a limit value, large-scale projects
- Industrial noise: the basis
- Practical session 3: industrial noise
- Special calculation methods, import and export of data
