The evaluation of vibration data provides information about the structural health of a machine and thus enables countermeasures to be taken, e. g. modification of the operation mode or active vibration reduction. With regard to vibration problems in the field of mechanical engineering, Wölfel develops solutions in combination with CMS methods, for example an actively damped milling spindle with a special chatter control algorithm (CCA) for the suppression of instabilities due to chatter.
