Capable pre- and postprocessor for modeling, visualization and process automation

Abaqus/CAE has been designed and developed for modern geometry-based work and supports all Abaqus solvers like no other software programs do. The user interface of the program to a large extent is inspired by modern CAD-programs, so that design engineers will easily find their ways. Abaqus/CAE makes editing input files unnecessary. Even the most complex definitions can be performed interactively – which is an advantage over other programs.

Geometry-based operation either is based on existing geometry data (e.g. from CATIA, ProE, SolidWorks or others), or the user can create and mesh geometries in Abaqus/CAE direct. For this purpose, among others an ultra-high performance hexa-mesher is available. Especially producing companies using company-own CAD-data do benefit from the geometry-based operation. Users of this method will appreciate maximum flexibility, in particular in the generation of mesh variants, for boundary conditions and loads are defined on the geometry.

Associative interfaces for CATIA V5, SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER allow for the synchronization of CAD and FEM and ensure consistent model updating without losing user-defined analysis functions.

The user-friendly scripting of Abaqus/CAE allows for the modeling of the entire workflow in the company.

Associative interfaces

With only one click you import the geometry of structural components or whole assemblies. After the meshing in CAE you can e.g. arrange for modifications in the geometry in your CAD-program and via the associative interface transfer such changes to CAE. The mesh is updated automatically without losing any analysis functions already assigned.
