Design of New Buildings and Existing Structures in Plant Engineering

In plant engineering, structures have to withstand the action of large static and dynamic loads - both during ongoing operation and extreme situations such as earthquakes. In order to ensure the stability of these structures at all times, there are numerous guidelines and regulations. We support you in the standard-compliant investigation, calculation and design of all types of structures commonly used in plant engineering, including

  • structural and plant steel engineering,
  • reinforced concrete engineering and
  • masonry engineering.

We primarily work according to European and American regulations (Eurocode, ASCE 7) and project-specific requirements, but also in compliance with other international standards. 

Impact loads, explosion pressure waves and earthquakes: special tasks in the design of structures in plant engineering

We support all stakeholders during the entire planning and implementation process and, due to the expertise we have built up over the years, we are consulted in particular for the following special tasks:


We provide the evaluation and design of structural components and structures for impact loads from vehicles, airplanes, debris and other objects.


We design new buildings for the explosion pressure wave load case and develop retrofit solutions for existing constructions. For this purpose, we simulate the propagation of pressure waves and their dynamic interaction with structures.


We have been handling earthquake load cases worldwide for decades. Therefore, we develop customer-specific solutions, hold high-level seminars and offer qualified services.
