Measurement, Analysis and Reduction of Paper Machine Vibrations

Paper machines are often negatively affected by vibrations, which frequently leads to lower paper quality (e.g. barring) and reduced production output.

These vibrations are mostly caused by rotating rollers or wires in combination with the interactions of individual machine components. Amplified by structural resonances (e.g. machine frames interacting with the foundation), this can lead to a vibration level that is no longer acceptable.
